We have updated and posted our travel schedule for shows through June of 2010. We believe this is a fairly aggressive schedule since as of 02/07/09 George feels his recovery has put him at about 65% of his pre-surgical strength and stamina (back in February)

For a brief period today we were under 400 for our backlog.
We have THREE staff position open
right now, and 100% of our staff is in training.
Please
keep inquiries as clear and to the point as possible. Quite
a few customers have added us to their joke of the day list
and their political comment of the day list. Take us off those lists in the interests of getting everyone's
orders processed as quickly as we can. If this persists
we will have no choice but to spam block those senders as
we had to do with several non-suppliers who kept harassing
us. We asked each of them 5 times to stop sending us
Spam and finally had no choice but to block them completely.

Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore.
You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |

January 21 -- It is with great sadness that we report the passing of a colleague, modeler and president of the Antelope Valley N-Scalers, John Vronko. We have had many wonderful conversations with John over these last eight years. He was a great guy with a ready smile and laugh and always was willing to assist new modelers just getting started in the hobby or joining the AVNS club. We last spoke to John about a week ago and will miss him. Our prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends.

January 21 -- Last Chance for reserved El Capitan shipments!We have about (8 as of 01/25/10) 3 dozen El Capitan sets here that were reserved timely but we have been unable to ship due to declines from those customers' credit cards. Several attempts have already been made to clear these orders. Since the distributor wants to get paid and we need to clear the shelf space, these orders will be tried again two more times over the next 7 days and if the purchases are still declined by Monday 02/01/2010, the orders will be cancelled and the product will be put into stock. If you haven't received your set yet, please be sure that you have not received a new card, a new expiration date or changed credit card companies since placing your order. We hate to be hard line however we are in business to pay the bills, rent, salaries, utilities and hopefully generate a profit.

January 18 -- Micro-Trains Has announced a new weathered car for release this month. The 30000 series SP Boxcar from January 2005 is back and it got dirty in the interim! Some really neat weathering and patching has been done to keep it servicable. We already placed our ordewr and were told that we should receive all we ordered for the first time in 4 months! YEA! As with all weathered cars, we start with our standing orders and those customers are allocated theirs first. Then comes the other orders in the order that we receive them.
