(A.A.R. Standard) One of the first (1903) one-piece cast sideframes
with integral journal boxes, this style was the most widely used during
the first 50 years of this century.

Roller Bearing- All Pricing below is not current
(Symington Ride Control) Though testing was complete on fully equipped Trains in 1930, this style didn’t become standard until 1956. Then in 1966 the A.A.R. made them required on all new cars. Rebuilt cars were included in 1970 and by 1978 more than 70% of north America’ rolling stock was roller bearing equipped.

6-wheel Commonwealth Freight Trucks- All Pricing below is not current
These 6-wheel Commonwealth trucks were designed to meet the requirements of high-speed passenger and freight trains of the 1940s. Strong, lightweight, and adaptable to customer needs, it helped make smoother, more reliable transportation possible on America’s rails. While the Buckeye truck (MTL #1173) was of similar design, it was used primarily for heavyweight loads. Commonwealth trucks more often found duty under lightweight rolling stock.
