Please Note:
Some Micro-Trains releases can be limited and run out at
M-TL
in the first 1-2 days of the month.
Occasionally M-TL allocates orders and even when we
order additional quantities beyound our Auto-Ship quantities
on the first day of orders at 7:00am we do not receive
all we ordered.
If this happens this month, we may be forced to allocate
to our reservations based
on timing of the reserve and if the customer is requesting
multiple copies of the item. |

USS Argonaut Navy Series #8

On
10 January 1943 while on patrol, Argonaut
spotted a convoy of five freighters and
their destroyer escorts. Argonaut hit at least one of the destroyers
with her torpedoes, and they promptly counterattacked.
It became apparent
that a depth charge had severely damaged the
submarine. The destroyers continued circling
Argonaut and
pumping
shells into her. She slipped below the waves
and was never heard from again. Her
name was struck
from the Navy list on 26 February 1943. |

first and only experiment
with the tank car fuel tender concept. SP 700
was not successful with the five modified
GP0-2s that ran
with this tank car and were subsequently placed
back into the freight pool.
