Container
Corp. of America
Road Number TLDX 20
P/N: 031 00 210

Click photo to see large view
This 50’ standard box car with single door is one of five
paper demonstrator cars built for the Container Corporation
of America. Built in March 1963, and numbered 19-23, these
Bessemer cars were from lot 8779. They used nailable steel
floors. This type of floor permitted wood blocking to be
nailed securely anywhere along the floor, and be easily removed
without causing any damage to the floor. Since rolls of paper
were strapped to pallets, this made for an effective securement
system.
