This is an assortment of eight different crates totaling 3-dozen pieces and includes scale lumber for skids where needed. Ideal for loading docks, factories, freight forwarding locations, and loads on freight cars and trucks.
Pretty easy to get these on the layout. First check the bottoms and clean off any residual flash. Next, brush on a thin (95% thinner) mix of FloQuil Roof Brown, or whatever’s close and handy. Stick them to a piece of cardboard with double-sided Scotch tape makes this a lot easier. Finally, for large crates or stacks of smaller crates, glue 2 X 4 skids underneath. |

Lots of stuff is shipped in sacks from cement, fertilizer, and seed to plastic pellets and dog food. These stacks of stuff were modeled after pallets of cement and concrete found at our local lumberyard. The kit includes twenty-six castings plus a few individual bags O’ stuff.
Brush a medium to light brown on the pallets, then gray, yellow, green, or whatever you choose on the sacks. On the samples in the photo, we clipped small, usually unreadable bits from leftover decal sheets, then clear coated and followed up with a very thin wash of dark gray to accent detail. A final coat of Testor’s Dullcoat wraps up the painting. Individual bags can be heated and bent to stand up against a pallet, or laid on top of a partial pallet. |

Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |
