Maryland Midland GP38-3s #s 300, 301 and 302. Features Include: - Directional lighting - Walkway safety tread - Blackened metal wheels - Scale speed™ motor - Factory-equipped with AccuMate® knuckle couplers - Dynamic brakes - Painted handrails - Golden-white LEDs - Roof detail - Prototypical sill detail Engines are due from Atlas in September. A little info about the Maryland Midland: The Maryland Midland (Reporting Marks: MMID) is a shortline serving central Maryland. It started operating 17 miles of track in 1980 and has grown to it's current 67 mile size via acquisitions of ex-Western Maryland and Pennsylvania Trackage from CSX and Conrail. Today it interchanges over 9000 freight cars yearly with CSX via its interchanges at Emory Grove (near Baltimore) and Highfield (Near Hagerstown) MD. One of its major customers is Lehigh Cement Company, a major cement manufacturer who's products can be found throughout the globe. The MMID current owns six locomotives, GP9ms #s 200-202 and GP38-3s #s 300-302. It is also currently leasing 2 GP40 locomotives from Helm Leasing. Our models are representative of each of the three GP38-3s, from the orange plows to correct GP38AC/DC lettering for each unit.
