60' PS Auto Parts Box Car
Era: late 1960's to 1990's
In the 1960s, Ford Motor Company, Pullman Standard and Santa
Fe pooled their resources to develop a
standard box car to meet the transportation needs of auto
manufacturers in the United States. Delivered in
1965, Pullman Standard's version is the most prolific example
of this type of auto parts box car that
ultimately changed the face of automotive manufacturing
and rail transportation.
• Fully detailed molded under frames
• Scale profile brake wheels
• Screw mounted trucks for enhanced performance
• Weighted for optimum operation
• Accumate magnetically operated knuckle couplers
• Photo etched stirrup steps provide scale cross section
• Available either with roof walks and full length
ladders or with out roof walks and with cut down
ladders depending on the era modeled.

Athearn N Scale
is pleased to announce factory weathered N Scale 60' Auto
Parts box cars. Under the direction of some of the
finest painters
in the industry, these cars will be weathered to accurately
replicate typical railroad use. Each car will be slightly
different, because of the hand-applied nature of weathering.
Available in very limited quantities (based on existing
stock of these road names and body types), these unique
cars are sure to be a big hit with modelers. All of these
cars have the incredible detail that is typical of Athearn
N Scale. Be sure to place your orders soon to ensure delivery.

Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |
